Perfect Red formed in late 2003 as members of three of Chicago's finest underground bands, Tony Kempa (drums), Tim Maeder (vocals), Billy Keller (guitars) and DJ Gorr (bass), merged to make one hometown super group. The group performed Midwest mini tours with over a hundred shows, recorded an album, and a video. In early 2005, guitarist Jeff Widelski joined.
The band immediately began work on their first full-length album titled "...rebuild the afterworld" which was recorded and released in 2005. The independently released CD gained acclaim in "THE BEST OF 2005" January 2006 issue of the Illinois Entertainer, as well as scoring regular airplay on major Midwest radio stations such as Chicago's Local 101 (Q101), Springfield's WQLZ, and internet radio such as FearlessRadio.com, where it received "Listener's Choice".
After sharing the stage with major label acts such as Disturbed and Pilla, Perfect Red geared-up for a West Coast tour in support of "...rebuild the afterworld". Immediately following the tour, the band secured their own recording equipment and studio, as well as adding a new "key" member, keyboardist Mark Wegener. As a result of these changes, Perfect Red recorded "THANK YOU, Mr. Meltdown" and has received excellent reviews on the Internet, the printed page, and on-air broadcasts.
