Craig Gore's Ten Year Sleep is a deeply personal collection of songs rooted in honesty, resilience, and the timeless traditions of Americana. The album's standout track, "Bourbon Cigarettes," perfectly captures the atmosphere that defines Gore's music—late-night reflections, weathered emotions, and stories that linger long after the final note. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Gore grew up surrounded by music and literature. His father, Addison Gore, was a musical theater composer, and his grandmother introduced him to the poetry of Walt Whitman, inspiring a lifelong appreciation for language and storytelling. A household filled with artists ranging from Paul Simon and The Beatles to The Who, Peter, Paul and Mary, and the Violent Femmes helped shape his broad musical perspective.

Gore began playing drums before moving to piano, eventually picking up the guitar while in college. What started as an attempt to impress someone soon became the instrument that would define his career. After performing solo acoustic shows in Los Angeles, he returned to Nashville, embraced electric guitar, and earned a publishing deal with Sony Nashville. While writing and recording demos between Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York, he continued refining his craft, drawing inspiration from artists such as John Hiatt, James Taylor, and Nashville's rich community of gifted songwriters.

Although an accomplished painter, Gore ultimately discovered that his strongest artistic voice lay in songwriting. Encouraged by a friend to stop chasing conventional rock and embrace his Southern roots, he found his creative identity in Americana. Influenced by Beck, Jeff Buckley, Steve Earle, Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, and Iron & Wine, Gore self-financed Ten Year Sleep, recording it at Scott Weiland's studio in Burbank, California.

The result is an album of beautifully crafted songs that explore love, loss, redemption, and the quiet strength found in vulnerability. With richly detailed lyrics, memorable melodies, and an unmistakably authentic voice, Ten Year Sleepestablishes Craig Gore as a compelling storyteller whose music feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.
