Formed in Los Angeles in the spring of 2010, Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits quickly established themselves with a distinctive blend of atmospheric indie rock, shimmering melodies, and dynamic guitar-driven arrangements. Following a series of live performances opening for Hot Hot Heat, Adam Franklin, and The Deadly Syndrome, the band entered Lone Palm Studio in Echo Park, California, to record their self-titled debut EP.
Released on October 12, 2010, the Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits EP is a four-song collection that showcases the band's moody, melodic sound and richly layered songwriting. Running approximately 16 minutes, the EP features "Shot Down," "California," "Every Day," and "Landslide," each highlighting the group's balance of dreamy textures, soaring melodies, and driving rhythms.
The lineup featured Jack Burnside (Mezzanine Owls) on guitar and vocals, Dan Horne (Beachwood Sparks, Lilys) on drums, Chris Newcomer (Polls) on guitar, and Jenni Tarma (Kylie Minogue, Eskimohunter) on bass. Songwriting was a collaborative effort among Daniel Horne, Jack Burnside, Jenni Tarma, and Christopher Newcomer, resulting in a sound that seamlessly blends lush guitars, expressive vocals, and atmospheric keyboards. Though their recorded output was brief, Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits left behind a memorable and compelling snapshot of Los Angeles' vibrant indie rock scene.
